Musk’s Boring Company to Accept Payment in Dogecoin

Elon Musk’s CNN reported that the Boring Company will take payment in Dogecoin to ride in its Las Vegas Loop.

Rides on the new Las Vegas transit system currently are free. According to the Las Vegas Loop’s website however, single rides will be free and day passes will cost $2.50. However, specific times have not been revealed.

The company unveiled the payment plan Friday at the opening of its first Loop station, outside the Las Vegas Convention Center. This is yet another indication that Musk supports Dogecoin’s sharp fall in value.

Underground Loop tunnel passengers will travel in Tesla vehicles driven at approximately 35 mph by humans. Musk originally announced that the high-occupancy vehicles would travel at 150 miles per hour.

The Boring Company intends to automate driving, and travel at higher speeds in future.

CNN reports that The Boring Company is planning to grow to 50 stations on the Vegas Strip. These include casinos and resorts as well as Allegiant Stadium, which is the home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.

Users can scan the QR code found on the wall at Resorts World to purchase tickets. Those who don’t wish to pay in Dogecoin can still use a traditional credit or US dollar card.

Dogecoin began as a joke back in 2013 and was inspired by an internet meme. Musk’s death brought the coin to prominence. Support Recent years have seen Saturday Night Live become a popular show.

Dogecoin has risen 4000% to 68c in 2021. However, one Dogecoin can be purchased for only 7c. It has fallen 70% in just one year.
