Griffin Cock Foster and Duncan Cock Foster were co-founders the auction platform Nifty Gateway. They announced their resignations in a thread on Twitter posted January 25. They are now effective immediately.
Duncan stated that Griffin and he were entrepreneurs and wanted to start a new firm. Griffin and me agreed that if all went well, and we were both happy in our new roles in 2019, @Gemini would purchase NG. We would then each stay for a total period of four years before launching a brand new venture.
We were able to stay for the entire trip, which is a testament to how much we enjoyed it.
This decision was taken amid a legal dispute between Gemini, Nifty Gateway’s parent company, and Genesis Global. Genesis Global is a cryptocurrency lender that has since declared bankruptcy.
Gemini asserts that Genesis Global owes $900 million to its members as part of its Gemini Earn program. Genesis Global stopped withdrawals in November 2020 because of “extraordinary market conditions”. Gemini is now suing Genesis Global.
I have some good news to share. My colleague @gcockfoster, and I, have decided to part ways with @gemini and pass the torch to @niftygateway after almost four years.
Griffin and my trip to the USA was an amazing experience. However, Griffin and myself are entrepreneurs by nature and hope to create another successful company together.
Duncan stated that despite the difficult financial situation at the parent company, the firm has been “preparing for this change for months” with Nifty Gateway.
His writing states that Tyler Winklevoss (Cameron) and Tyler Winklevoss (Tyler Winklevoss) were visionaries who saw NFTs potential long before anyone else. Nifty Gateway will flourish due to the leadership of them.“
Eddie Ma will assume the role of technical leader for Nifty Gateway while Tara Harris will be the “leader” for all non-tech operations. It is well-known that transitions can bring with them an increased sense of uncertainty about the future.
We will present to the public in the coming weeks a roadmap and a strategy for Nifty’s future development.
We want to keep in touch with the mission as advisors to ensure that it continues smoothly after we leave.
