American Company that sells tickets Ticketmaster announced it will improve the fan experience by using digital collectable NFTs. It will also mint ticket NFTs to select events on Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain. This will provide users with a brand new experience.
Ticketmaster will issue NFTs so event organizers can provide live events to fans before, during, or after the event.
Fans can also share and activate digital souvenirs online to get unique loyalty rewards, VIP participation opportunities, and many other benefits.
Ticketmaster partnered with Flow in order to distribute over 70,000 one-of-a-kind virtual commemorative ticket NFTs for Super Bowl LVI. Each user is marked with their unique seating location.
Flow, a blockchain platform originally designed for gaming purposes has seen its popularity expand since its launch in 2020. Flow blockchain supports smart contracts and fast, low-cost transactions. Dapper reports that Ticketmaster minted over 5 million Flow NFTs using the Flow blockchain during a pilot program. This included Apollo Theater, Gavin de Grau and Black Crow, as well as Sebastian Maniscalco.
Mickey Maher, Senior Vice-President of Partnerships at Dapper Labs, stated that the partnership between Ticketmaster and Dapper Labs will allow millions of people to share, immortalize, and enhance their IRL experiences using digital collectables.
